Educational Advocacy

We partner with schools and parents to ensure students with Auditory Processing Disorder and hearing loss receive the support they need to thrive in school. From navigating Individual Education Plans (IEPs), 504 plans, and Student Support Plans to advocating for the right accommodations, we guide parents every step of the way. In addition to working directly with families, we also collaborate with school districts through contracted services to provide expertise, training, and resources that benefit students with APD and hearing loss.

Our goal is to empower you as your child's strongest advocate, ensuring they receive the understanding, accommodations, and opportunities they need to shine.

At ListenHEAR, we contract with many districts in the states we are licensed in for APD services. Current contracts include Desoto County Public Schools and Lee County Public Schools in Florida. We specialize in supporting children with APD through evaluations and therapy services. Our advocacy services include:

• IEP and 504 Plan Navigation - Expert guidance through the development and implementation of individualized education plans and accommodation plans
• School Meeting Support - Professional representation and advocacy during meetings with teachers, administrators, and support staff
• Accommodation Recommendations - Specialized knowledge of assistive technology like DM systems, remote microphones, and classroom modifications
• Teacher Observations and Consultations - On-site assessments and collaboration with educational teams to optimize student support
• District Partnerships - Contracted services providing APD evaluations, therapy, and consultation to charter, private, and public schools
